Red (The Red #5)

I woke up with a gasp. I couldn’t able to breath. I sprang up from my bed and reached the balcony door. I unlocked it and rushed outside. The air was chilly. I inhaled a lot of those chilly air and it was a bliss. The air smelled of wet sand. I looked up and it was a beautiful full moon. Then I looked down. I saw the same forest that I had dreamt about just now. Then a fear started creeping inside me. I turned to my right and looked my neighbour balcony. No one was there. Neither there was any light turned on. After spending some time in the balcony. I returned to my bed. The darkness was unnerving. I switched on the light for a second and looked the clock. It was 01:30 AM. I had slept for a whole two hours to wake up from a nightmare. I sighed myself and switched off the lights. I fall on the bed. The darkness didn’t disturb me now. Karattoor (The Red #4)

“I would take one single – large” A week has passed. Now I am here in this mountain village, Karattoor. I have isolated myself completely. I have flown to this country, India. This hotel is by far the best that I can find here in this town. The reception guy looked to tall and too skinny. When I asked him about the availability of a single large room, he looked me up and down. Then, he asked me to fill the details in a registry. When I done filling the details, he looked at it. Is he deaf or something? Then, he turned back and reached the key hanger. When he returned, he had a tall and slim key just like him. “Ummm! What about the corner room I just asked? Is it available?” “…” He started reading something else as if he didn’t hear anything that I told him. I confirmed that he was d...

“Is this some kind of sick joke?” It was my turn to keep silent. She should let her feelings out. Or else it would end up being a fight. It had happened before, and I intend not to let it happen now. Especially now. “I mean, listen to yourself.” Yes, I do, Babe. Yes, I do “…” “You were saying that you need to go and play hide and seek. And we shouldn’t find you? Ed, this is Insane.” “…” “Here I thought you were finally done writing your draft. I seriously planned on taking a different approach for this novel, Ed. But what you are saying is beyond insane.” “…” I can sense her relaxing a bit. “Listen, Ed. It’s not only about you or me. It’s about everything we have built so far. If this hits the news, then it will ruin it all.” Now she is being dramatic. “Babe. I know that. I know it will affect everything. It has been tough for me to decide this. But this is our only way. I have to get myself isolated for me to get my writing.” “You were all alone in this fuc...
