Stabilize yourself da fucker!!!
February 2021 was a good month.
After all the rants of events happened on February, I didn’t write about the one insane thing I did at the beginning of that month.
Come to think of it, Make that 2 insane things.
I binge watched nearly 70 Episodes of a Tamil Serial that got telecasted in YouTube: And,
I binge watched a Reality show about cooking in Hotstar.
It was not so insane to watch these shows. Maybe the concept of watching a Tamil serial and a Vijay TV reality show would be a bit cringe-y but, these were very well written TV shows.
Before I write about these TV shows, I want to write about the books I finished reading on the first week of February and how the secret month of mine got ended.
My very first Ultimate goal of this year was to start reading the Harry Potter series. I had no money to buy the books. My kid brother was supposed to start working in an IT company called Hexaware on January 21. But unfortunately, they had fucked him and my plans. I had got a Insta Jumbo Loan of nearly 1 Lakh rupees to resolve the financial problem of my family. I thought of using my kid Brother’s salary to tally the payment of loan on the later months, but my plan had got flopped.
So, I postponed reading Harry Potter after I bought all the books. I may read the PDF if I want but I thought of finishing other books in my TBR first. I would be buying the 7 books in the Harry Potter Series (2 books per month) and would start reading it in April or May.
And thus, I started finishing the last of my books in my TBR list.
Love – Nation & Relation
Due to my Procrastination, I had read only one book in the month of January. But in February, I had finished reading 5 books in total.
In the first week of February, I had ready two books.
Two were one of the most fantastic books I have ever read in my life. One was a fiction – TheNotebook and the other was a Biography of a freedom fighter – Without Fear: The Life & Trial of Bhagat Singh.
Both books were very much contrast to each other but, I find one common thing in it.
Its Love!
One portrays a beautiful love story between two teenage sweethearts. How they fall in love in their teens and dies together on their old age. It made me cry like hell after reading this. After reading this book, I had read many reviews and found out that many people hate the prose of this book. As I have no prior experience in these kind of love stories, the prose didn’t affect me.
And I didn’t care about the prose. Its how the characters evolve together and how even Alzheimer’s cant destroy the memories of a true love. I know it’s silly, but I feel its poetic.
Just Wow!
The other book also portrays a love story. It’s a kind of love a man has with his nation.
I never thought I would buy this book and read. I bought this book accidently and I am planning on finishing it before resuming Why I became an Atheist!
And the other reason I wanted to read this book was to know about the life of Bhagat Singh before watching one of his Biographical film.
I have already watched a Biographical film made about Bhagat Singh on January. It was The Legend of Bhagat Singh in which Ajay Devgan Portrayed the role of Bhagat Singh. But I came to know that there were three Biographical Films made about Bhagat Singh. And the weird part is that they all got release on the same year – 2002.
So, I read the book and watched the movie on the first weekend of February. And the movie was 23rd March 1931: Shaheed. In this movie, the Bhagat Singh was played by Bobby Deol. I didn’t like this movie as I did with the Ajay Devgan one. This movie was lengthy and had a lot of commercial elements like a lot of fights – over the top fight sequences and cringe-y romance sequence. The movie was nearly 3 hours long and the climax was a utter crap. It even tried to make Bhagat Singh a theist. The Gandhi part of it was also not likable as they tried to be more ignorant about the Gandhi Vs Bhagat Singh clash.
It was a Saturday and my mood got spoiled because of this movie. So, I thought of watching some other movie. So, I picked a love film to watch – Colour Photo – a Telugu movie. This movie follows a shy boy and a bold girl troupe. I normally would love this troupe, but it didn’t work out well in this movie. The ending with two climaxes didn’t hit me as it was supposed to do. It’s a meh movie.
Again, a disappointment. I thought of changing my bad mood to a good one by watching a love movie and it didn’t work out well too. So, I chose The Notebook movie to watch. I liked the book. And I liked this movie even better. I cried lot more than I did after reading the book. I had my Catharsis after watching this movie. It was a Bliss.
The next day – Sunday – I watched three movies.
Kilometers and Kilometers – This Malayalam flick is a breezy watch. A love story between a Mallu guy and an American gal. She comes to India to travel after winning a lot of money in a casino and joins with this Mallu guy as his tourist guide who needs money for his family’s financial needs. A love blossoms between them which changes the perspective of life for them both.
Super Over – This is a Telugu movie about a cricket betting gone wrong. I don’t call it a thriller but it’s kind of felt like one. Till its last moment, I was watching it at the edge of my seat. Good one!
Sir – Finally I ended my weekend with this amazing Hindi movie. It’s kind of a forbidden love story – Indian Version. This is a brilliant script and one of its kind. I am a sucker for character driven plots and this movie is purely and intriguingly character driven. Loved IT!
